6.00pm: We (me, my siblings, cousins and my brother's girlfriend) started to prepare for sungkai. We had this hot plate and a few marinade dishes all set sudah so we started cooking.

6.25pm: The food on the hot plate was not cooking, we realized that the power connected for the hot plate was not working. So were the lights at the next room.

6.28pm: My maid's husband came to us in a panicky voice, " Api! Ada api di luar!" The first thing in my mind was the fact that my little brother was asleep upstairs, tampat near the place where my maid's husband was pointing. I couldn't even comprehend what he was saying after that.

6.30pm: The house terblack out.

6.30+ pm: Did not have a proper sungkai since we didn't get to cook much. Turns out the panel untuk karan (i'm sorry, I just don't know these things) angus and my maid's husband and my driver tried to put the flame out.

7pm: We decided to have our masak-masak at my nini's place di dapur belakang, had a hasty meal as we had terawih after that.

My tummy feels weird now. I'll just have a proper meal masa sahur lah.

We're having the panel fixed as I'm typing, the internet connection is pretty unstable now and we just had a short blackout as I was typing just now.

If you're wondering how I got the time for each event accurate awal-awal, I kept looking at the clock, tunggu sungkai, lapar wah. Hahaha.

So I pretty much had a sucky sungkai today.

The reason why I just can't walk to my granddad's place, ada tah tu duduk-duduk ampir tampat sampah, giving this fierce face and the more i yell and stomp my foot to get rid of it, the fiercer the face, making me retreat back to my house.

The closest I have ever been near a monkey was this one time when I woke up at around 6-ish AM on a school day by a knock on the window. Turns out it was a monkey, exposing his gigi and it took a piercing scream to get rid of it. And I swear, that happened three days in a row for some reason. Ia tah pulang bangunkan aku skulah. Don't know what made it stop knocking on my window, it would've been a better routine to be woken up a grinning monkey. Mati kali ia after the third day ah, inda ia dapat lagi buat duties nya atu.

They've been a nuisance to us since we started living here. I've got my granddad, 2 of my cousins' families living nearby and yesterday during lunch at my granddad's place, my cousins and I shared some stories about them stealing stuff like mangoes from our trees. And the annoying bit is that they only took a bite sekali buang tia

My cousin sorang ani ceritakan how he bought a slingshot and have been trying to shoot the monkeys tapi nada kana saja. My other cousin, being so unfortunate to have his house sebalah hutan, told me how he tried to soak the mangoes with lada, Sasak when the monkeys suka tia pulang. Buang durian at them doesn't help either.

Rice cooker pun pandai tia jua dicurinya ani wah. Berparty kali dalam hutan atu. And once, the monkeys even watched my cousins have their lunch from the kitchen window. Probably been watching them cook rice to know how the rice cooker works. I suggest next, ampaikan tah extension, curinya kali tu jua. Pakai power supply dorang tapinya.

And stealing isn't enough for them. They even pernah swim arah my cousin's swimming pool lagi tu. Yatah my cousin kan bagi sabun tu nanti arah his swimming pool ah.

We're still thinking on how best to kanakan these ambuks. Bari sakit hati wah, mangoes half-eaten, sampah everywhere arah the road, my cats kana kacau oleh dorang.

Oh, forgot to mention we managed to capture one of the ambuks. Kept it in a cage. Frenzied at first but after a while, we managed to tame it, sometimes he entertains us and we give a banana. Is never without his purple blanket. We call him Jimmy.

Not, alum lagi sehari, pacah tia cage nya ah.

We're onto them, especially you, Jimmy.
